The tyre shed the Yorke Peninsula was missing.
YP Wheel Shed opened in Minlaton in 2024, run by Todd and Ron. Before that, a shredded tyre on a header or a blown steer on a road train meant a long wait, or a long drive.
Now it means a phone call. The shed at 48 Maitland Road handles the everyday work: car and ute tyres, fitting, balancing, punctures, oil, filters and batteries. The two call out units handle everything that cannot come to the shed, day or night, anywhere from Ardrossan down to Marion Bay.
Sales, fitting and balancing for cars, trucks and ag gear, plus on site tyre workshops for anyone wanting a whole fleet sorted in one hit.

Fitting and balancing
Static and dynamic balancing, done properly so the wheel runs true at speed rather than shaking the steering wheel out of your hands.
Puncture repairs
Plugged, patched or replaced depending on where the damage sits. Bring it in, or we will come to it.
Call outs, 24 hours
Two fully kitted call out units on the road. Blown a steer on the highway or shredded one in the paddock at midnight, give us a ring.
Tyre workshops
On farm and on site tyre workshops for crews who would rather sort the whole fleet in one go than book them in one at a time.
Oil, filters and batteries
The consumables you would otherwise drive to Kadina for, kept on the shelf here in Minlaton.

Tyres do not pick their moment. They go in the middle of harvest, on the side of the highway, on a Sunday with the van loaded and the family in the car. That is what the call out units are for, and why there are two of them.

“Amazing service at the Wheel Shed today. Todd helped me out at short notice. I needed two new drive tyres on my prime mover, but I also needed a quick turnaround so I could keep up to my schedule. They had the tyres I needed on hand. As soon as I drove in the door Todd was onto it and had the truck on jacks. He had the whole job done (take off two tyres, remove them and fit two new ones, inflate them and get them back on the truck) in 20 minutes.”
